COVID-19 Update

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Statement – Alexander Funeral Service

Understandably, all the information and conversation regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused an incredible amount of stress and anxiety within our community. All of us at Alexander Funeral Service are working hard to meet the challenges presented by the spread of the virus. We care deeply about the health and safety of our staff and those that we serve. While we are striving to continue to serve the families that have entrusted their loved ones to our care, the health and safety of all involved is a top priority.

We are closely monitoring and following the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the NC Board of Funeral Service (NCBFS), the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) and local authorities as they relate to this virus and the services that we provide. This includes taking all necessary precautions to reduce risk of exposure to the virus while visiting our facility.

If you choose to attend a visitation or service for a family member or friend, please consider the following:

Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds;

 •Use hand sanitizer (of at least 60% alcohol) when hand washing is not immediately available;

•Refrain from touching any part of your face with unwashed hands;

•Minimize or eliminate physical contact with others; especially on visitations and services. Please be respectful to our families and staff. Refrain from handshaking and hugging and try to stay 6 feet away.

•If you are not feeling well or have come into contact with someone who is sick, please do not attend the visitation or funeral service;

•If you have recently traveled outside of the United States or to areas within the United States that have sustained community transmission of the virus, please do not attend the visitation or funeral services.

During this difficult time, please consider leaving a condolence message for family and friends on our website ( If you wish to send a more personal message (one you do not wish to make public) to one of the families that we are serving, you may send the message to our email at [email protected] and we will provide that message to the family.

If you experience a death during this time, please rest assured knowing that we will continue to serve your family to the best of our ability. Our funeral directors are available 24/7 to discuss service options available during this time.
