Charles “Baldy” Williams

July 21, 1950 — June 2, 2021

Following a brief illness, Charles (Baldy) Williams entered the gates of Heaven, June 2, 2021.
Charles (Baldy to those who knew him- or not) was born July 21, 1950, to Richard J. Williams and Betty Sue Norton Williams Thomas. After his father’s passing, in Baldy’s young childhood, he was most fortunate to gain his Dad, Ralph J. Thomas, when Betty Sue remarried. Baldy met and married the love of his life, Louise Taylor Williams, and together they have three children.
Cathy Brown and husband, Jimmy, Michele Foster and husband Greg, Jeff Williams, and wife Chrisi. As much as Baldy enjoyed being a dad, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his favorite blessings.
Grandchildren; Christopher Brown and wife Brooke, Chelsie Ellis and boyfriend Brandon Caudle, Logan Ellis, Nola Williams, Adrian Foster and wife Summer. Great Grandchildren; Caiden and Harper Brown, Cooper Ellis, Dylan and Kirra Foster.
Additional family left to cherish Baldy’s memory include his brother, Ronnie Williams, sisters-in-law Judy Simon and husband John, Sue Little, Peggy Zelensky and husband Stan, and Teeny Greer and husband Terry, along with a number of nieces and great-nieces and nephews.
Those waiting to welcome Baldy into Heaven include his parents, grandson Isaac Brown, in-laws Robert and Mildred Little, sister-in-law Lynn Williams, brother-in-law Frankie Taylor.
In his adult life, Baldy was a truck driver, hauling from one coast to the other. He was an active member at Calvary Baptist Church, was an avid political enthusiast and never missed an opportunity for a good debate. Baldy loved all Alexander Central sports, volunteered for the Recreation Department and coached baseball, loving his players like his own kids. After retirement, Baldy and Louise enjoyed their “breakfast club” mornings and spending time with their friends. Baldy never met a stranger in the entirety of his life, and he had a large, loving presence and a laugh that will never be forgotten. His love for his family was evident and passed along to each generation to follow.
Pallbearers include Christopher Brown, Logan Ellis, Brandon Caudle, Jimmy Brown, Greg Foster, Rocky Chapman, Mark Sipe, and Craig Gwaltney. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the “Breakfast Club”.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 4, 2021, at Alexandre Funeral Service from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
The service will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the Calvary Baptist Church Sanctuary. Rev. Steve Dagenhart and Rev. Taylor Miller will officiate. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery.
