David Earl Clarke

David Earl Clarke Sr. passed away at his residence February 27, 2021. He was born to the late Neil Clarke and Leota Nina Holt Truax in Ischua, New York on December 25, 1936. During his working career he worked as a welder in Dresser-Rand, New York. He enjoyed having a farm later in life, enjoyed woodworking, and was an all-around family and community man. David was a Christian and was very active in his faith.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his spouse Joanne Ruth Tarbox of 60 years, a son David Earl Clarke Jr., two brothers: Tom and Sam Truax, a sister Jane Gausman, and a son in law Herbert Tucker.
Those left to cherish the memories of David are five daughters: Deborah O’Connell (Galen), Dawn Chestnut (William), Mary Tucker, Martha Clarke, and Faith Buchanan (David), a son Matthew Clarke (Faith), four brothers: Clair Slawson, Carl Slawson, Norman Buchanan, and Paul Truax, one sister Jean Beckhorn. Also, a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A family-oriented service will be held at a later date.
