Douglas Steven Scott passed away peacefully at Wilkes Regional Medical Center on June 29, 2021, with his wife, Sandra Frazier Scott, by his side. Doug was born on December 13, 1948, in Caldwell County to Bill and Gaynelle Walsh Scott. Doug spent his working career in the transportation industry and held many positions, from driver to developer of lesson plans to train drivers.
Doug loved motorcycles, trucks, and all animals. He loved to tell stories about experiences he had while driving a truck and his time spent in Saudi Arabia. He loved his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Doug was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Ann Scott, and his parents. He is survived by his wife of fifty years; one daughter, Staci Scott Hining and spouse, Kevin, of Fleetwood, NC.; three grandchildren, Morghan Bass, Lillie Hining, and Miller Hining; sister, Billie Jo Scott; and canine companions, Minnie, and Buddy.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date, officiated by Dennis Whittington.
