Harold Dean Hammer

Harold Dean Hammer age 70 passed away May 22, 2021 after a long illness. He was born September 25, 1950 to Henry and Elizabeth Burke Hammer. During his working career he worked in the construction industry and later 16 years as a truck driver at Mitchell Gold. Harold is of the Christian faith and a member at Beulah Baptist Church. He served in the Army for two years and later in the National Guard for over twenty years. During his free time, he enjoyed tending to the cattle, watching the grandchildren play, and always enjoyed checking in on others after retirement.
Harold is preceded in death by his Father Henry Hammer, and a son Harold Joel Hammer.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 41 years Martha Childers, two sons: Jesse Hammer, Rusty “Jarrod” Hammer (Angel), sister Debbie Hammer, brother Tommy Hammer (Margaret), four grandchildren: Allison, Katie, Josie, and Colton Hammer, a special friend Stephen Childers, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Wednesday May 26, 2021 from 3:00-3:45 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service Wednesday May 26, 2021. Rev. Keith Bowman and Rev. Steve Gunter will be officiating. Military Rites will be provided by DAV Ch. 84 and Ch. 6. Inurnment will be with the family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Beulah Baptist Church at 336 Black Oak Ridge Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681 or to the DAV Ch. 84 at 582 Carrigan Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
