Linda Paulette Smith Lail

Linda Paulette Smith Lail, age 73, of Granite Falls passed away on Tuesday, January 1st, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Caldwell County to the late Archie Kent and Ada Pauline Helton Smith on November 8, 1945.
She worked at Granite Falls Middle School before she retired and knew every child by their name. Linda was a wonderful cook, loved babysitting her grandchildren, and often fed the birds around her home. She loved to watch them especially the Humming birds and the Blue Martins.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 54 years; Dean Carroll Lail, three daughters; Tamara Gilbert and husband Danny of Lenoir, Janet Wright and husband Larry also of Lenoir, Amanda Bates of Granite Falls, one son; James Lail of Granite Falls, four grandchildren; Kaleb Wright, Madison Bates, Lawson and Avery Gilbert, one sister; Melody Kay White of Lenoir, with a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Alexander Funeral Service from 2:00 – 3:00 pm. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm in Alexander Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Gary Jennings.
In lieu of flowers all memorials may be made to Hospice of Caldwell, 902 Kirkwood St NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
