Robert Bob Johnson

Robert “Bob” Clegg Johnson, age 89 of Moravian Falls passed away on Tuesday evening February 9, 2021 at Wilkes Health and Rehab. Born September 6, 1931 to the late Willie Grady and Pearl Adeline Harris Johnson in Wilkes County. Bob was a member of Cub Creek Baptist Church, enjoyed playing golf, camping, doing mission work, working in his garden, doing yard work, and was a member of the Gideons International. Bob was a charter member of the Moravian Falls Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife of seventy-one years, Martha Grace Johnson, five brothers and sisters and six infant brothers and sisters.

Those left to celebrate and cherish the memories of Mr. Johnson include three daughters, Kay Steelman (Michael), Kathy Treadway (Gary), Robin Billings (Kevin Walsh), one sister, Pauline Anderson, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, along with a special nephew, John Bauguess.

Mr. Johnson will Lie-in-State at Alexander Funeral Service Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 1:00 pm –7:00 pm. Friday at Cub Creek Baptist Church February 12, 2021 from 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Rev. Sherrill Welborn will officiate, Wilkes County Fireman Honor Guard will assist.
Moravian Falls Volunteer Firemen will serve as pallbearers.

The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Moravian Falls Volunteer Fire Department @ W Brocktown Rd, Moravian Falls, NC 28654 or Gideons International @ 279 Crestoak Dr, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
