Stevie Johnson

Stevie Johnson, age 60, passed away Monday, February 27, 2023, at Ridge Valley Nursing Home in Wilkes County. He was born to the late Roger Wilson Johnson and Opal Hubbard Johnson on Wednesday, May 23, 1962, in Alexander County. Mr. Johnson was of the Christian faith. Stevie had worked in the furniture industry for 17 years. He enjoyed working outdoors, fishing, and riding horses. Steven loved going to Love Valley and to the mountains to ride horses.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Keith Tony Johnson and Danny Wilson Johnson, sister, Ann Johnson Walker, and niece, Tonya H. Sipe.

Those left to cherish the memories of Stevie include his brothers, Jerry Hubbard (Joyce), Dale Johnson (Faye), Dwain Johnson (Barbara), Sammy Johnson, all of Taylorsville, Douglas Johnson (Lori) of Hiddenite, sisters, Carol Bingman (Bruce), Kathy Shoemaker (Ronnie) both of Statesville, along with a number of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Alexander Funeral Service from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023, in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Andrew Sharpe and Rev. Allen Fox will officiate. Sammy Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Jerry Hubbard, Robert Bowers, Brad Bowman, and Jordan Hubbard will serve as pallbearers.

The family will accept flowers or donations can be made to Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2715 Bethel Church Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
