Allene Grace Cline Starnes

Allene Grace Cline Starnes, age 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was born to the late Perry Cline and Pearl Johnson Cline on Thursday, March 19, 1931, in Alexander County. During her working career she worked for Alexander County Schools in the cafeteria. Allene was a member of Mt. Bethel Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking with the women at her church. She also enjoyed gardening and taking care of her grandchildren. Allene loved her family and cherished spending time with them.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Starnes; daughter-in-law, Gail Starnes; son-in-law, Gwen Foster; sisters, Edna Smith, Rose Ann Bentley, and Pauline Little; brother, Roy Cline.

Those left to cherish the memories of Allene include her children, David Starnes (Rosalind), Steve Starnes, and Diane Foster (Chris); seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Cline (Barbara); sister, Irene Oliver; sister-in-law, Marie Starnes; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Monday, November 20, 2023, at Mt. Bethel Methodist Church 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be Monday, November 20, 2023, at Mt. Bethel Methodist Church at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Dale Bost will officiate. Ashley Starnes, Adam Starnes, Bryn Starnes, Ryan Foster, Weston Johnson, and Dustin Beal will serve as pallbearers.
