Arnold Willard Kerley, Jr., age 67, born on June 28, 1958, in Essex County, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Catawba County. He was a cherished individual who touched the lives of many and will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As the owner of Quality Roofing and Siding, Arnold dedicated his professional life to serving his community with integrity and hard work. His craftsmanship and commitment to quality were a reflection of his character, and he built lasting relationships with those he worked alongside.
Arnold was of the Christian faith, and his spirituality guided him throughout his life. Beyond his professional endeavors, he was deeply devoted to his family and friends, relishing the moments spent together. He had a passion for music, particularly enjoying playing the guitar, and had a love for motorcycles. These hobbies brought joy to his life, enabling him to express himself creatively and share experiences with others.
Arnold is survived by his mother and stepfather, Martha and Sam Oxentine; his girlfriend of 17 years, Irene Kiser; his sisters, Cindy Kerley Cothran (Wayne) and Monica Kerley; and his brother, Shannon Oxentine (Misty). He was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews: Jessica Kerley, Chasity Gwaltney, Ashley Kerley, Bobby Cothran, Eric Ward, Harrison Oxentine, Cooper Oxentine, Peyton Oxentine, and Tatum Oxentine, along with his great-nephews, Chance Gwaltney and Ashton Kerley, and great-nieces, Jade Cothran, Ellie Rose Cothran, Aria Cothran, Violet Kerley, and Ismelia Ward.
He is preceded in death by his father, Arnold Kerley Sr., and his brother, Steven Oxentine.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service in Taylorsville, North Carolina, followed by a funeral service from 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in Taylorsville City Cemetery. Rev. Bill Orren will officiate. Shannon Oxentine, Harrison Oxentine, Cooper Oxentine, Wayne Cothran, Bobby Cothran, and Eric Ward will serve as pallbearers.
Arnold leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strong values. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, contagious smile, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of many.
