Betty Jane Icard Perkins

Betty Jane Icard Perkins, born on December 27, 1948, in Burke County, passed away peacefully in her hometown on January 3, 2026. She lived a life dedicated to her family, embodying the spirit of a devoted homemaker who cherished the moments spent caring for her son. Betty’s journey led her to work in the furniture industry as a finisher at Century Furniture for a number of years.

Betty is survived by her beloved son, Donald Lee Perkins. She leaves behind her brother, Jimmy Lee Icard, and his wife, Celia; her sister, Cathie Abernathy, and her husband, Lynn; along with a number of cherished nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Theodore Icard and Edna Mae Winkler Icard, along with her brothers, Billy Ray Icard and Brantley Jones Icard, and her sister, Sally Elizabeth Lail.

Betty's memory will be honored and cherished by all who knew and loved her as a wonderful mother, sister, and aunt. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to resonate within her family and friends.
