Bobby "Robert" Lewis Arnett

Bobby "Robert” Lewis Arnett, age 87, passed away on March 11, 2026, in Alexander County. He was born on April 12, 1938, in Caldwell County. Bobby was a proud veteran who honorably served in the Army, embodying values of dedication and commitment throughout his life.

Bobby will be remembered not only for his exceptional skills in woodworking and craftsmanship also his passion for tinkering and building anything he could imagine. Throughout his working career he was a carpenter and a dispatcher for Anderson Transportation. He enjoyed painting, a hobby that gave him great joy. Above all, Bobby cherished his family and adored his animals, providing nurturing environment filled with love and laughter.

He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children, Karen Arnett Nelson (Kenny), Robert “Robbie” Arnett Jr., and Lisa Arnett Powell (Kevin). Bobby was a devoted father who took great pride in his family. He is survived by four grandchildren, each of whom cherished their time with him Kayla Nelson McCall (Zach), Miranda Arnett Boughman (Jordan), Robert Nicholas “Nick” Arnett (Sydney), Heather Powell Anderson (Jeff); eight great-grandchildren, Oliver McCall, Hollyn Boughman, Ruthie Boughman, Naomi Boughman, Stella Grace Arnett, and Samuel Anderson, Vincent McCall and Vivienne Beth Arnett.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, William “Chester” Arnett and Hazel Watson Arnett, also his beloved wife of 59 years, Reva Hopkins Arnett.

Visitation services will be held at Alexander Funeral Service Taylorsville, NC on Monday March 16, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Additionally, friends may gather for visitation at Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir, NC, on Tuesday March 17, 2026, from 1:15 PM 1:45 PM, followed by a funeral service at the church starting at 2:00 PM. Rev. Alan Carr will officiate. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. Robert “Robbie” Arnett Jr., Nick Arnett, Zach McCall, Jordan Boughman, Samuel Anderson, Kenny Nelson, and Jeff Anderson will serve as pallbearers.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his contributions to everyone around him will be remembered in many hearts.
