Chuck Vane Hendren, age 50, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkinville. Born on Monday, May 19, 1975, in Iredell County, Chuck embraced life with warmth and an infectious smile that made everyone feel welcome. For over 15 years, he took great joy in greeting customers at Walmart, where his friendly demeanor and kind spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of encountering him.
A member of Thomas Street Church of God in Stony Point, Chuck's faith was an integral part of his life. He found great solace and inspiration in gospel music, with a particular fondness for southern gospel, and he often expressed his admiration for the band Gold City. His interests extended beyond music; he was an avid collector of guns, knives, and spears, pursuits that brought him joy and satisfaction.
Chuck’s family was a source of pride and connection in his life. He is survived by his loving parents, Terrell and Wanda Steelman Hendren. He was a beloved brother to Rebecca Hendren Johnson and her husband Reggie, and to Christina Hendren Winebarger and her husband Duane. Additionally, he was an adoring uncle to his five nieces and nephews. He also survived by his special friend Mike, whose companionship meant a great deal to him.
Chuck was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Steelman.
A funeral service in honor of Chuck's life will be held at Thomas Street Church of God, located at 61 N Thomas Ln, Stony Point, NC 28678, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 am. Chuck will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Ken Nelson will officiate. Ryce Johnson, Reagan Johnson, Rocky Johnson, Robert Bowden, Ryan Chestnut, and Josh Smith will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathanael Winebarger and Isabella Winebarger. After the burial, a celebration of life will be held with Chuck’s favorite meal being served for all who attend.

Chuck’s memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him, a testament to a life well-lived and a spirit that touched so many.
