Connie Revonda Crouch Blackburn, age 90, a cherished figure in her community, passed away peacefully at her home in Alexander County on January 17, 2026. Born on April 7, 1935, in Alexander County, Connie lived a life full of love, dedication, and service.
Throughout her working career, Connie brought her talents to Clayton Marcus and Lad Furniture, where she served as the payroll manager, contributing significantly to the well-being of those she worked with. Her skills and commitment were recognized and appreciated by her colleagues.
Connie was a devoted member of Mt. Bethel Methodist Church, where she shared her passion for her faith. For an impressive 81 years, she offered her time and talents as a Sunday school teacher and lent her voice to the church choir, enriching the spiritual lives of many in her community.
However, Connie's greatest joy came from her family. She was known for her love of cooking, particularly Sunday dinners, where she would gather her family around the table, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Her home was a warm sanctuary for loved ones, where laughter and love were always present.
In addition to her family and faith, Connie had a variety of interests that brought her joy. She enjoyed gardening, discovering the beauty of nature through her hands, and was a passionate fan of basketball and softball. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel extensively, having visited all 50 states and 31 countries, experiences she cherished and often shared with others.
Connie leaves behind her loving husband of 68 years, Cecil Blackburn, and her children Scott Blackburn, Marva Cornacchio (John), Tim Blackburn (Monika), and Todd Blackburn (Karen). She was a proud grandmother to Nicole Cornacchio Drum, Daniel Blackburn, Marie Clontz (Jon), Chris Powell (Katie), and Nicholas Blackburn, and a loving great-grandmother to Abram Hoover, Kase Drum, and Jackson Clontz. Connie is also survived by her siblings, Tressie Hudler, Ruth Wike, and Glenda Kanupp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius Shaver Crouch and Coralee Kirby Crouch, her daughter-in-law Carlene Blackburn, and siblings, Tula Hall, Wayne Crouch, Ted Crouch, Stanley Crouch, and Floyd Crouch.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at Mt Bethel Methodist Church, located at 9042 NC-127, Hickory, NC 28601, from 4:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Bradley Caldwell will officiate. Jonathan Clontz, Abram Hoover, Nicholas Blackburn, Daniel Blackburn, John Cornacchio, and Christopher Powell will serve as honorary pallbearers. The Methodist Women will be honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Bethel Methodist Church, 9042 NC 127, Hickory, NC 28601.
Connie will be remembered fondly for her warmth, kindness, and the profound impact she had on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who carry her memory in their hearts.
