Connie Lee Kerley

February 8, 1942 — July 4, 2020

Connie Lee Kerley, 78, of Taylorsville passed away on July 4th, 2020 at his home. Connie was born on February 8, 1942 in Alexander County, the son of the late Wade Kerley and Cecil Blackwelder Kerley. He retired from Gulf State Paper in Conover after 30 years and also worked for Alexander County Convenience Center at the Vashti site. He was an avid fisherman all his life and enjoyed spending time fishing with his fishing buddies. He also was a deer hunter and enjoyed hunting in Ashe County. Including his parents, he was pre-deceased by two sisters Lillian Daniels & Sue Bentley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son Tony Kerley & wife Marilyn; two grandchildren Amanda Kerley & fiancé Chris Clark and Gentry Kerley; four great grandchildren Anna Marie, Anna Renee, Brysen Jase, and Khloe Yvonne; four siblings Larry Kerley & wife Pat of Birmingham, Michigan, Joyce Hubbard & husband Jerry, Billy Kerley & wife Kresia, and Gary Kerley of Taylorsville; nephews Timmy, Tommy, Allen, & Dustin Kerley and David Daniels; nieces Sandra Childress, Tonya Sipe, Nancy Daniels, Lynn Echerd, and Kathy Stikeleather; along with numerous friends.

Connie will lie-in-state for public view on Monday, July 6, 2020 from 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. A private memorial service will be held at Vashti Baptist Church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Vashti Baptist Church at 6510 Vashti Rd, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
