Cooper Alexander Duvall, of Taylorsville, North Carolina, passed away on August 16, 2026. He was born on October 31, 1948, in Muhlenberg, Kentucky, to Obel Duvall and Irene Duvall Garris. Cooper served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Cooper was preceded in death by his parents, Obel Duvall and Irene Duvall Garris; and his siblings, L.W. “Jack” Duvall, Clarence Duvall, and Mary Duvall Breland.
He is survived by his siblings, Paul Duvall and Betty Duvall Collier; his daughters, Clara (Jenny) Crotts and Karen; his grandchildren, Hannah Thompson (Jon), Sierrah Hough, Joshuah Crotts, James and Nicolas; his great-grandchildren, Emmaleigh and Grayson Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Alexander Funeral Service located at 193 NC Hwy 16 N, Taylorsville, NC 28681, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery located at 962 Old US Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC 28711, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
The family extends special thanks to his caregivers, Crystal and Todd Bentley, and Brian Deal for their care and support.
