Daniel Billings, 62, passed away on October 1, 2026, at his home in Alexander County. He was born on December 13, 1963, in Harford County, Maryland.

Daniel was a member of Shining Light Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for Hickory Springs Manufacturing. He was also someone who found enjoyment in the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, especially when sharing those times with his son. He also enjoyed boating with his son, creating memories on the water that will be warmly remembered by those who knew and loved him. He cherished spending time with his granddaughter most of all.

Above all, Daniel will be remembered as a devoted family man. He shared 41 years of marriage with his wife, Linda Billings, and together they built a life centered on love and family. He is also survived by his son, Justin Daniel Billings and wife Marissa; his granddaughter, Ivy Jo Billings; his sister, Lorene Jarrell of Maryland; and his brothers, Paul Billings and Woody Billings, both of Taylorsville, Don Billings of Rising Sun, Maryland, Talmage Billings of Street, Maryland, and Hort Billings of Whiteford, Maryland. Each of them carries forward treasured memories of his life, his companionship, and the time they shared together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonah and Blanche Watkins Billings; by his son, Daniel Anthony Billings; and by his brothers, David Billings and Steve Billings.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Shining Light Baptist Church, 926 Black Oak Ridge Road, Taylorsville, North Carolina 28681. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm at the church. Pastor Michael Cothren will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shining Light Baptist Church, 926 Black Oak Ridge Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681, or American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Daniel will be remembered with love for his steady presence, his enjoyment of the outdoors, and the special bond he shared with his family. His memory will remain dear to all who knew him.
