Danny Lee Meadlock, age 78, a devoted family man, respected businessman, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, at Carolina Caring in Catawba County. Born on August 14, 1947, in Caldwell County, Danny embodied a life rich in service, passion, and commitment.
As an owner of Huntington House Furniture in Bethlehem, Danny's dedication to his craft and community was evident. He was not only a successful entrepreneur but also a trusted figure whose legacy in business reflected his integrity and hard work. Beyond his professional achievements, Danny treasured his role as a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where his faith was an enduring cornerstone in his life.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army, a testament to his deep sense of duty and patriotism. His time in the military shaped his character and was a source of pride throughout his life. Outside of his professional and military endeavors, Danny was a man of diverse interests. He found joy in fishing and gardening, embracing the tranquility of nature. Additionally, he was an avid motorsports fan, a passion that brought excitement and camaraderie to his life.
Danny’s loving presence will be profoundly missed by his wife of 57 years, Kathy Martin Meadlock; his son, Monty Shawn Meadlock; his brother, Richard Allen Meadlock; and his grandson, Cooper Blake Meadlock. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who carry forward his memory.
Danny was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ronald and Edith McCall Meadlock, his sister Susan Meadlock Wallace, and sister-in-law Terri Lynn Meadlock.
The family will receive friends and loved ones for a visitation on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service, located at 193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681. Inurnment will be with the family.
The family requests no flowers, but donations may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Shriners Children’s, c/o Office of Philanthropy, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Danny’s caregivers, Redina Moretz, Kerlis Alvis, Sue Patterson, Colada Dula, Cindy Brown, and Carolina Caring and Hospice of Catawba County.
Danny’s life was a tapestry of dedication—to family, to country, to community, and to his own passions. His gentle spirit and steadfast character have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. As we remember Danny, we celebrate a life lived with purpose, warmth, and unwavering devotion.
