Danny Lee Pounders, age 76, born on November 20, 1949, in the gentle hills of Buncombe County, passed away on August 18, 2026, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Hall County, Georgia. Known and cherished by many, he was the embodiment of steadfast dedication to both his work and his loved ones.
Danny’s life was a testament to perseverance and commitment. For 54 years, he made his living as a truck driver—a vocation that became much more than just a job, turning into a lifelong journey across highways and byways. Most recently, Danny put his remarkable skills and steady hand to use at JSC Trucking, always upholding a reputation for reliability and professionalism. He found purpose behind the wheel, and his experiences on the road shaped not just his career, but also the resilient and adventurous spirit he brought to every aspect of his life.
Beyond his dedication to his work, Danny’s vibrancy could be seen in the way he embraced life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid lover of the outdoors—camping, casting a line while fishing, or planning his next adventure. Traveling held a special place in his heart, and those who knew him best often observed that he was always on the go, seeking out something new and exciting.
More than anything, Danny loved his family deeply. He is survived by his beloved son, Danny Pounders, Jr. (Stacy); three cherished grandsons, Jayden, Corbin, and Karson Pounders, and expecting a fifth grandchild; and his sister, Ann Bullman (Fred), and his brother-in-law, Phil Armstrong.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harley Talmadge Pounders; his mother, Molly Grace Hairsy Pounders; his loving wife, Brenda Griggs Pounders; his infant grandchild, his brother, Maurice Maynard (Tella); his sister, Ruth “Marie” Armstrong.
