Darrell Lee Bolton

Darrell Lee Bolton, age 78, a devoted family man and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Catawba County, North Carolina. Born on March 7, 1948, in Lincoln County, he lived a life marked by deep commitment to his loved ones and country.

Darrell proudly served his country in The United States Army, a testament to his dedication and bravery. Beyond his military service, he was known for his warm spirit, his love of fishing, and his great sense of humor, often brightening the days of those around him with his jokes and jovial nature.

A cherished husband for over four decades, Darrell is survived by his beloved wife, Doris Starnes Bolton. Together, they built a family rooted in love and resilience. He is also remembered fondly by his daughter, Ashley Nichole See (Ailon), and his stepson, Andy Snipes (Melinda). His siblings—Geraldine Fagan, Danny Bolton, Donny Bolton, and Butch Bolton (Nancy)—stand alongside his extended family in mourning his loss. His grandchildren, Kyler Snipes, Collin See, and Cali See, carry forward his legacy with fond memories. Additionally, he is survived by his brother-in-law and friend, Jerry Starnes.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Ural Edward and Virginia Caroll Bolton, and siblings Ronnie Bolton and Jeanette Richards.

The family invites friends and loved ones to honor Darrell’s memory at a visitation held on March 19, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Service, located at 193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681. Following this, a graveside service will take place at Oxford Baptist Church, 5965 Springs Road, Conover, NC 28613, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Rhett Miller will officiate.

Military Rites will be provided by The United States Army and American Legion Post 16 Honor Guard.

Darrell will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His devotion to family, his service to his country, and his joyous spirit have left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate to share in his life. May his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.
