Dexter Lynn Davidson, of Taylorsville, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on December 16, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio, Dexter was the son of Blake and Suma Davidson. He was preceded in death by his father, Blake Davidson and his grandparents, Roby and Rosa Davidson and Fred and Beulah Harrington.

Dexter was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring brother, and faithful friend. He was known for his hardworking nature, steadfast character, and deep love for his family. He enjoyed spending time fishing, working with his hands, and making lasting memories with those he loved most.

He was a graduate of Alexander Central High School, Class of 77. Dexter dedicated 43 years of service to Gulf States (Westrock) in Conover, where he earned the respect and friendship of his coworkers through his strong

work ethic and dependable character.

Dexter was a member of Hiddenite Baptist Church and, later in life, found great comfort in becoming more active in his faith and church family.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 41 years, Barbara Davidson; his mother, Suma Davidson; his children, Kile (Sherry) Davidson, Mark Davidson, Amber (Stephen) Crumpler, Dexter James “DJ” Davidson, and Lance Davidson; his cherished grandchildren, Keelie and Addison Davidson, Hayden and Corbin Littleford, Adlee Crumpler, and Roman Davidson; his sister, Mitzi (Scott) Minyard and their children, Emily and Savannah; his brother, Rodney Davidson and his children, Brandon and Jordan; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.

Dexter will be remembered for the love he had for his family, the pride he took in his work, and the example of dedication and perseverance he set throughout his life. His memory will forever be treasured by those who were

blessed to know and love him.

A memorial service to celebrate Dexter's life will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Hiddenite Baptist Church at 6:00 pm. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Zach Deal will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family.

The family will accept flowers, or donations may be made to Hiddenite Baptist Church, 250 Hiddenite Church Road, Hiddenite, NC 28636, or cancer society of your choice.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.
