Dwight Douglas Moose, age 81 of Stony Point, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Sherrills Ford Hospice House in Catawba County. He was born on Tuesday, October 26, 1943, in Alexander County, and his life was a testament to love, family, and faith.
Dwight dedicated forty years of his life to his loving wife, Ora Williams Moose. Together, they built a beautiful family that includes his son, Douglas Moose (Tammy), and his stepchildren: Fonda Curcio, Gregory Setzer (April), and Callie Gilchrist (Sean). Dwight's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Cody Moose (Reece), Kelsey Moose, Kaylee Owens (Trenton), as well as his eleven step-grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Loretta Baker and Debbie Byers, and will be remembered by his many friends, including Ray Elmore.
He was known for his warm personality and his unwavering love for his family. Dwight cherished spending time with them, particularly enjoying the special moments shared with his grandchildren, step grandchildren, and great-grandchildren creating memories that will be held dear by all who knew him.
Dwight was a man of faith and a dedicated member of Marvin Methodist Church, where he found community and connection. He embraced the joys of life outdoors, finding peace and happiness in hunting, fishing, and reading, especially his Bible.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie Dagenhart Moose, along with his siblings: Bera Stevenson, Jeanette Siceloff, Wilma Nash, and Sylvia Brewer, as well as brothers Tom Moose, Jim Moose, Carl Moose, and David Moose.
A family led Celebration of Life will be held at Unity Christian Church in Stony Point on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Rev. Scott Hammer will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family.

Dwight’s passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to family, his joyful spirit in the outdoors, and his deep faith. He was a guiding light in the lives of many and will be dearly missed.
