Edgar Corley

Edgar Corley, born on January 15, 1938, in Dade City, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at Taylorsville House in Alexander County. He was a devoted family man who loved and cherished the time spent with his family, especially his beloved granddaughter, Courtney Powell. Edgar’s warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on those around him, making him a beloved figure in the lives of his family and friends. He proudly served his country in The United States Air Force

A member of Stony Point Baptist Church, Edgar demonstrated his deep faith through his commitment to his community, where he was well-respected and admired. He enjoyed engaging in various hobbies, particularly his passion for golf and his fascination with watching airplanes, which brought him joy and relaxation.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rhea Jean Corley, daughter, Lynn Powell (Stacy), and granddaughter, Courtney Powell, as well as his brother, Billy James Corley (Bessie), niece, Sue Ballard, and several nieces, nephews, and special neighbors who will fondly remember his gentle spirit and unwavering support.

Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Eva Thomas Corley, and his siblings: Clairemae Bush, Genevieve Smith, Cecil Corley, Milton Corley, and Bobby Corley.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

As we remember Edgar, let us reflect on his profound love for family, his steadfast faith, and the joy he found in simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
