Eric Grant

Eric Grant, 55 of Salisbury, NC entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 8, 1970, to the late William Grant, Sr., and the late Cynthia Howell Grant.

Eric was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where he joined at an early age. He was a 1988 graduate of Alexander Central High School where he was a valued member of the varsity football team. He also had a love for baseball, basketball, and his favorite pastime, fishing with his children. Eric worked in various industries throughout his life and most recently in food service.

Preceding him in death are his parents William and Cynthia Grant; maternal grandparents, Chouncie and Pansy Howell; paternal grandparents, Fred and Lizzie Grant; a special uncle, Gerald Howell, and several aunts, uncles, and family members.

Left to cherish Eric’s memory are his wife, Toni Barnes Grant, two daughters; Erica Bennett of Hiddenite, NC, and Amanda Jackson (Freddie, Jr.) of Taylorsville, three sons; Eric Grant, Jr. and Cameron Grant of Hickory, NC and Anthony Grant of Lexington, NC. Seven grandchildren; India, London and Rhiaunna Jackson, Raelynn Grant, Emery Grant and Sharyma Roseboro and Taraji Bennett. Two brothers; Richard Grant of Taylorsville, NC and William Grant, Jr. (Stephanie) of Concord, NC. Two sisters; Valerie Parsons (Joe) of Taylorsville, NC and Cynthia Grant of Winston Salem, NC. He also leaves his beloved aunt and uncles; James C. Howell (Peggy) of Newton, NC, David Howell of Jupiter, FL and Harold Howell, Sr. (Judy) of Taylorsville, NC and one aunt; Cathy Riggins (Robert) of Loris, SC. Eric is also remembered by his loving aunts, Esther Jones and Mary Howell along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held of Friday, January 30, 2026, at St. John Baptist Church from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be Friday, January 30, 2026, at St. John Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. T.E. Martin and Rev. Frederick Howell will officiate.
