Taylorsville

Eric Lynn Herman, age 51, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Taylorsville on July 16, 2026. Born on April 3, 1975, in Alexander County, Eric’s life was marked by devotion to his family, steadfast faith, and a deep sense of community.

Professionally, Eric served as Co-Manager at Lowes Foods, where he was known for his strong work ethic and generosity. Eric’s strong foundation and faith filled heart, portrayed a warrior through a tough battle that never showed any weakness. He was an active member of his church, finding great comfort and purpose in worship and scripture. Eric’s enthusiasm extended beyond his work and faith. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes and was a passionate supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, Eric treasured time with his family—whether enjoying quiet evenings at home or sharing laughter on a family outing.

A man whose kindness and integrity touched all who met him, Eric built a life centered around those he loved. He shared over three decades with his devoted wife, Deana Herman, together raising a loving family. He was the proud father of Jarrett Herman, Jacob Herman, and Katelynn Herman, cherishing every moment spent with them. Eric is also survived by his mother, Sandra Chapman, and father, Allen Chapman, who remember their son as a source of pride and joy. Eric’s presence brought a special warmth to his siblings’ lives. His brother, Chris Herman, and brother Wesley Chapman, recall the countless memories shared and the unwavering support they found in Eric. He was also an uncle, lovingly remembered by his niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Summer Lee Herman; his grandparents, Rachel Herman and Lindsay Herman; and his uncle, Marvin Herman. Their memories remained close to Eric’s heart throughout his life.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Eric are invited to honor his memory. Visitation will be held on July 24, 2026, from 3:00 to 3:45 PM at Crosspoint Church, 5860 US-64, Taylorsville, NC 28681. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM at the same location. Rev. Chris Meade and Rev. Jeff Pope will officiate.
