Ernesto Salas Solis, age 47, born on April 24, 1979, in Tuxpan, Veracruz, passed away on July 9, 2026, at his home in Catawba County, North Carolina.

Throughout his life, Ernesto cherished time spent with his family and built countless treasured memories alongside them. He was known for his boundless love, his willingness to always give a helping hand, and for loving unconditionally. His warmth and generosity of spirit touched everyone who had the good fortune to know him.

He dedicated his career to working as an upholsterer at McCreary Modern, where he was recognized for his skill and commitment. Outside of work, Ernesto was a man of many interests. He enjoyed soccer and found particular delight in obscure Mexican music, hobbies through which he expressed both joy and his cultural roots. Ernesto also had a great zest for life, finding fun in special moments, both big and small.

Ernesto’s greatest joy was his family. He especially cherished the time spent with those closest to him, most notably with his devoted life partner, Lisa Blankenship, and his beloved children: Ella Solis (Calvin Sechriest), Alexz Solis, Alexandro Solis, Americaz Perez, and Xayli Perez. His family fondly remembers him as the best father his children could have asked for—a pillar of strength, love, and laughter. He is also survived by his father Eligio Solis, his mother Adela Salas, the mother of his children, Ashley Sigmon, best friend, Marquis Mcilwain, his three brothers, one sister, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Martha Solis and his godfather, Alberto.

The family will have a private celebration of life.

Ernesto’s life was defined by devotion to his loved ones, a contagious enthusiasm for living, and hands eager to help. Though he has left this world, the love and lessons he shared endure in the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
