Fremon Blankenship

Fremon Blankenship, age 86, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at his home in Alexander County. He was born to the late Byrd and Mary Owens Blankenship on Friday, April 2, 1937, in Buchanan County, Virginia. Fremon proudly served his county in the United States Army. He attended Freedom Baptist Church. He enjoyed remodeling and carpentry work. Fremon loved his family dearly and cherished spending time with them.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd Blankenship, Larry Blankenship, and Bill Blankenship; and one sister, Lois Marshall.

Those left to cherish the memories of Fremon include his wife of 50 years, Anna Blankenship; son, Christopher Blankenship; daughter, Kimberlie Lloyd; grandchildren, Dustin Combs and April Combs; great-grandchildren, Myah Byrd and Lathon Farmer; brothers, Bob Blankenship (Peggy) and Jerry Blankenship; sister, Patsy Owens (Ronnie); and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Monday, October 16, 2023, at Alexander Funeral Service from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Inurnment will be with the family.
