Gail Deloris Icenhour Bowman

Gail Deloris Icenhour Bowman, age 72, entered into her heavenly home on Monday, August 18, 2025, at her residence. She was born on May 4, 1953, in Iredell County to the late Coie and Lois Icenhour.

Gail was saved at an early age, serving the Lord faithfully. She loved praising her Savior through song and playing the piano and organ. She also shared her love for playing by teaching piano lessons. These gifts from God delighted her. Gail was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She served as the WMU president for several years.

Gail graduated from Alexander Central High School and attended Mitchell Community College for one year and received a degree in cosmetology. She was a cosmetologist for a while but then had a desire to love and nurture her children. She not only cared for the needs of her family but cared for many extended family members as well throughout her life. She cherished any chance for her family to be together and loved them all. God’s love was shown through her devotion to her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish the memories of Gail include her husband of 52 years, Gary Bowman, son Greg Bowman, daughter Gina Richards and husband Kevin, grandchildren, Bailey Bowman (Zach Pennell), Amie, Maegan, and Dalton Bowman, and Kaleb Richards, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Garrett Lynn Bowman. She loved them all dearly and greatly missed her son. She is now united with them.

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Macedonia Baptist Church located at 63 Macedonia Church Road, Taylorsville, NC from 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Macedonia Baptist Church at 3:30 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Taylor Pennell will officiate. With God’s help, Gail helped carry us through our lives and these pallbearers are honored to carry her, Greg Bowman, Dalton Bowman, Jeffery Fox, James Woodward, Dale Bowman, and Zach Pennell. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Bowman and Kaleb Richards.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church Building Fund, 63 Macedonia Church Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
