Geraldine Marie Teague, 84, of Taylorsville, NC, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Valley Nursing Center in Alexander County.
Born on January 20, 1941, in Taylorsville, Geraldine was the cherished daughter of the late James Everett Teague and Zettie Watts Teague. She was one of nine siblings, and she now joins her beloved brothers and sisters—James Teague, Troy Teague, Hayden Teague, Mildred Fox, Rachel Gresham, Ruth Teague, Elsie Bolick, and Ruby Teague—in their heavenly home.
A lifelong resident of Alexander County, Geraldine found joy in the simple and profound: her faith, her family, and the community she loved. A member of Smyrna Baptist Church, Geraldine’s faith was her foundation. It guided her every step and filled her days with purpose and grace.
Geraldine was known for her joyful spirit and witty sense of humor. Whether she was cutting up with the nurses and friends at Valley Nursing Center or expressing gratitude for the life she was given, she brought a sense of lightness and love to every room.
She is survived by her loving nephew, Faron Teague, and his wife, Karen; her great-niece and great-nephew, Calvin Teague (wife, Amanda) and Lauren Davis (husband, Nathan); and her treasured great-great-nieces and nephews, Huntley and Nora Teague, and Kensley and Jaxson Davis. Her family meant the world to her, and she never missed a chance to brag on them.
A celebration of Geraldine’s life will be held on Friday, November 21st, at Smyrna Baptist Church, 6174 Church Road, Taylorsville, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM to 3:15 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 3:30 PM, officiated by Rev. Eddie Jolly. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to the Valley Nursing Center Activities Department, in honor of Geraldine’s generous and joyful spirit. Geraldine especially loved participating in activities at Valley—she never missed a chance to play bingo or stop by the Country Store, where she found so much joy and companionship.
Her life was a living testimony to the scripture: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 “In my father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:2–3
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service.
