Idalia Francisca Argueta De Cortez, age 63, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and respected member of her community, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Catawba County. Born on April 12, 1962, in El Salvador, Idalia's life was marked by profound dedication to her family, her faith, and her profession.

Idalia earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and committed her career to caring for others as a nurse. Her colleagues and patients alike were touched by her compassion and gentleness, qualities that extended beyond her workplace into every aspect of her life. Known for her generous spirit, Idalia would give away everything she had to help someone in need – a testament to her selflessness and kind heart.

She was a member of Iglesia Casa de Oracion and found great joy and strength in her faith. Always ready to go to church, Idalia loved her Lord and her church community deeply. Her unwavering devotion served as a source of inspiration and comfort to those around her.

Above all, Idalia was an amazing mother and wife. She was consistently humble and grateful for everything, shaping a family environment grounded in love, kindness, and gratitude. Her legacy is carried forward by her devoted husband of 45 years, Manuel De Jesus Cortez; her beloved children, Victor Manuel Cortez and Ana Maria Cortez; and her cherished grandchildren, Idalia Soledad Cortez, Ana Carolina Abarado Cortez, and Christopher David Abardo Cortez. The lessons of empathy, humility, and love she imparted to her family will remain with them always. Idalia is also remembered by many friends and those whose lives she touched through her kindness and service.

She now joins in eternal rest her father, Rosendo Hernandez; her mother, Virginia Soledad Argueta; and her brother, Juan Bautista Argueta.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Iglesia Casa de Oracion, 179 S Shady Rest Rd, Statesville, NC 28677. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm at the same location. A burial will follow. Pastor Paulino Flores will officiate.

Nacida el 12 de abril de 1962 en El Salvador, la vida de Idalia estuvo marcada por una profunda dedicación a su familia, su fe y su profesión.
