James Ashley Sweet

James Ashley Sweet, age 45, born on April 3, 1980, in Alexander County, North Carolina, passed away in the same county on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. He was a cherished figure whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

James dedicated his career to working at M & R RV Repair. He was known for his commitment and strong work ethic, traits that were reflective of his character and devotion to his family.

Above all, James loved his family. He is survived by his mom, Kimberly Dawn Lail (Michael Martinez), fiancée, Dashia Brooklyn Jenkins; his children, Heaven Elaina Parsons, Kiana Lytton, Zyniah Lawrence, Dustin Tacoma Sweet, Ashlayia Lashae Sweet, and Jordan Elijah Ashley Sweet; and his half-brothers, Tyler Sweet (Hannah Brooke), Koty Sweet (Ashton), and Brittany Sweet Louie (Brandon). James also took great joy in being a grandfather to Mulani Ah'yoka, Skylar Amore, Naomi Grace, and Triton Cashiuss "Cash." He leaves behind his life long best friend Shemeca Parsons “Meme”. Additionally, he is remembered by his paternal grandmother, Naomi Sweet, and his maternal grandparents, Paul and Crystal Lail, and Gladys Minton. He leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and special friends who cherished him.

James was a man of the Christian faith and enjoyed life to the fullest. His vibrant personality shone through in his hobbies and interests, which included listening to country music and hip hop, racing motorsports, traveling, and proudly supporting the Patriots.

He was predeceased by his father, James Harold Sweet, his sister, Tosha Lashae Sweet, and paternal grandfather, Harold “Bud” Sweet.

Visitation services for James will be held at Alexander Funeral Service in Taylorsville, North Carolina, on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

James Ashley Sweet's legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family will forever be treasured by those who were lucky enough to know him.
