Johnny Walker Jarvis

John W. “Boss” Jarvis, age 82, of Taylorsville, NC died Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at home surrounded by loved ones.

Fondly known as “Boss” by many, he was a man of few words but had a big and giving heart. Some of his favorite things were spending time with family and Bass fishing. A man of many talents who touched the lives of many.

He is survived by his wife Melba Jarvis; sons; Johnny Jarvis, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Waxachachie, TX; Ron Jarvis and wife, Jenny of Huntersville, NC; John McDonald of Roanoke, VA and Richard McDonald and wife, April of Hickory NC; daughter; Sarah Hobbs and husband Ken Hobbs of Johnstown, CO; grandchildren, Amy Hobbs, Brianne Jarvis, Lacee Jarvis, Jacob McDonald, Austin McDonald, Michael Hobbs, Brennon McDonald, Walker Jarvis, Johns Douglas McDonald, Bailee Chism, Chloe Chism, Faith Jarvis; and great-granddaughter, Hailey Jarvis.

The family will hold a “Celebration of Life” in Montgomery, AL on November 2, 2024. A gathering to remember and honor John with all our loved ones, sharing stories and celebrating the beautiful life he lived with his large extended family.
