Johnny Travis,

Johnny Lee Travis, age 67, of Hiddenite, passed away on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2010.  He was born on May 8th, 1943 in Catawba County to Catherine Price.  Johnny worked in the furniture industry for 40 years and was retired from Pembrook Chair in Claremont.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter, D’etta Michelle Travis, and his sister, Judy Carolyn.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife and love of 47 years, Patricia Holland Travis of the home; son, Jamie Travis & wife Linda of Stony Point; daughter, Cynthia Travis Deal & husband Reggie of Hickory; and his sister, Alice Little & husband Billy of Conover.  He also has 3 grandsons: Casey Travis of Hickory, Caleb Travis of Camp Lejeune, and Corey Travis of Oak Island; and one granddaughter: Jerica Deal of Hickory.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church at: 6175 St. Peters Church Road. Conover, 28613.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 25th from 2-3 P.M. at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Conover.  Service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. inside the church where the Rev.  Paul Birner will officiate.  Alexander Funeral and Cremation Service has been entrusted with arrangements for the Travis family.
