Judy Elaine Abbott Galati, age 76, a nurturing spirit who dedicated her life to caring for others, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, at Taylorsville House in Alexander County. She was born on January 13, 1949, and throughout her life, Judy embodied the virtues of selflessness and love, always prioritizing the needs of those around her.
Judy’s warmth and kindness extended to everyone she met, making her a beloved figure among family and friends. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly enjoying camping, where she created cherished memories with loved ones amidst the beauty of nature.
She leaves behind a loving family that includes her sons, Jeff Galati (Lydia) and John "J.J." Galati. Judy was a devoted grandmother to Maddie Galati (Gavin) and cherished her great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Greyson. Additionally, she embraced her role as a step-grandmother to Jason Lusk (Katie) and Natasha Lusk and found joy in her step-great-grandchildren, Marissa and Mason Lusk, as well as Dylan, Colton, and Keegan Williams.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Roseanne Palmer Abbott, her husband, David Galati, as well as her sisters Cindy Sherry, Carol Abbott, and Tammy Abbott, all of whom she loved dearly.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Hubert Funeral Home in Jamestown, New York from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and the service will follow.
Her legacy of compassion and family devotion will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life. Judy Elaine Abbott Galati will be remembered for her nurturing nature and the profound impact she made on her family and friends.
