Kenneth Lambert, age 89, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Catawba County. Born on Thursday, December 12, 1935, in Burke County, Kenneth led a life marked by compassion, service, and a steadfast commitment to his faith and family.
A proud veteran, Kenneth served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, an experience that only deepened his appreciation for service and community. Following his military duty, he pursued further education, attending Wingate College, Lenoir-Rhyne University, and Southeastern Seminary. This educational journey equipped him for a remarkable career in ministry.
Kenneth pastored Ragland Memorial Baptist Church in Virginia for five years, Polkville Baptist Church for two years, Bethlehem Baptist Church for 19 years, and Norwood Memorial Church for 11 years all three in North Carolina, where he left a lasting impact on countless lives through his leadership and spiritual guidance. He also served as the Director of Missions in Alexander County, continuing his work in service to others. His commitment was unwavering, reflecting a deep-seated belief in the power of community and faith.
As a member of East Taylorsville Baptist Church, Kenneth found a loving community that resonated with his values. His love for music shone brightly as he enjoyed singing in the choir at East Taylorsville and participated in Alexander Senior Citizen singing group in Alexander County, and also a quartet during his earlier years, often attending gospel singings that brought joy to his heart. Hunting was also one of his cherished hobbies, serving as a source of relaxation and connection with nature.
Family was at the center of Kenneth's world. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Helen Barber Lambert, and their children, Tonya Lambert Hefner (Mark) and Todd Lambert (Samira), grandson, Martin Lambert, nieces, Annette Skidmore (Tim) and Connie Marsh (Billy).
He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" Lambert and Tessie Bradshaw Lambert, his siblings: Millard Lambert, David Lambert, Howard Lambert, Allen Lambert, Louise Lambert, and Doris Lambert, and his nephews, Mark Lambert and Randy Lambert.
Kenneth's legacy will be honored during a visitation at East Taylorsville Baptist Church in the Sanctuary in Taylorsville, NC, on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. The funeral service will be at East Taylorsville Baptist Church in the Sanctuary at 2:30 pm. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park, 2506 Burke Memorial Park Rd, Morganton, NC 28655. Rev. Kevin White and Rev. Mark Marshall will officiate. Special music by Jason Guyer.

Kenneth’s life serves as a testament to faith, family, and service. His warm spirit and unwavering commitment to those he loved will be profoundly missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.
