Kevin Michael Wyatt, age 47, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 14, 1978, in Alexander County, Kevin's life was marked by his commitment to his work, his love for outdoor pursuits, and above all, his devotion to his family.
Kevin’s career in furniture as a frame builder spanned more than 20 years. Outside of his professional life, he found joy in a variety of interests including fishing, deer hunting, baseball, supporting the Washington Redskins, and NASCAR. However, the greatest passion of his life was his family, to whom he was deeply devoted.
He is survived by his loving parents, William Michael “Mike” Wyatt and Rita Gail Bumgarner, whose guidance and support were pillars in his life. Kevin’s legacy continues through his beloved daughter, Elixa Wyatt, who brought immense pride and happiness into his world. His brother, William "Caleb" Wyatt, along with his nieces and nephews William "Hunter" Wyatt, Pasleigh Hill, and Waylon Doster, remember him fondly and carry forward his memory. He also leaves behind a number of aunts and uncles, who shared in his life's journey.
Kevin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy "Barnes" Bumgarner and Betty Lou Stansel Bumgarner, as well as his paternal grandparents, William “Paul” and Betty Jo Wyatt.
As we mourn the loss of Kevin Michael Wyatt, we also celebrate a life well lived—marked by dedication to craft, fondness for nature and sports, and a profound commitment to those he loved most. His presence will be sorely missed, but his memory endures in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
