Lille Mae Pennell,

Lillie Mae Pennell, age 84, of Taylorsville, passed away on Thursday, July 22nd, 2010.  She was born in Caldwell County on December 26th, 1925 to parents Samuel Monroe Keller and Ada LuAnn Hice.  Mae was a faithful member of Mt. Ridge Baptist Church and worked in their VBS each year.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allie Atwell Pennell; sister, Ruby Woodring, and 2 brothers: Paul and William Keller.  Those left to cherish her memory are her children: David Pennell & wife Brenda, Rayford Pennell & wife Marlene, Clifford Pennell & wife Cindy, and Nancy Gentle & husband Mike – all of Taylorsville.  3 brothers: Tony, JC, and Arthur Keller.  She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Douglas Pennell of Hiddenite, Dale Pennell, Sonya Fagan, Shannon Pennell, Laura Ritchie – each of Taylorsville, and Dana Short of Hickory.  She also has 10 great-grandchildren: Leah, Alexa, Ciara, Kenly, & Macey Pennell, Levi & Linsey Fagan, Autumn Pennell, Brandie Daniels, and Max Short.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24th, from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Funeral Service.  Service will be conducted at Mt. Ridge Baptist Church on Sunday, July 25th at 3:00 P.M. where the Rev. Allen Fox and Rev. Finley McCurry will officiate. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International at: 8223 Tower Point Dr, Charlotte, 28227 (OR) Mt. Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund at: 1952 Mtn. Ridge Church Road, Taylorsville, 28681.  Alexander Funeral Service is serving the Pennell family.
