Lonnie Lewis Munday, born April 27, 1950, in Iredell County to Ralph Lewis Munday and Junie Campbell Munday. He passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, at Gordon Hospice House in Iredell County. Lonnie worked at Mack Modeling as a senior technician for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, working on cars, remodeling, and tormenting people that he loved.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Terry Michael Munday and his sister Carolyn Ann Daniels.
Mr. Munday is survived by his wife Joan Munday, son Eric Munday (Gina), Erics children; Andrew (Kayla) and Raven, Michael Munday, Michael’s children; Casey (Sarah), Brandon (Rhylie), and Kaitlyn, Elizabeth “Beth” Woods, Beths children; Mikey (Lindsay) and Gage, 16 great grandchildren, sister Jeanette Lowder (Sonny), special friends Angie Bryden and family, Frankie and Patsy Bumgarner, Tammy Campbell, and Penny Phifer, and number of nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Lonnie will be held Monday June 24, 2024, at Alexander Funeral Service from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Tuesday in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel at 2:00 pm. Rev. Cody Ward will officiate, and his daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Woods will give the Eulogy. A private graveside will be held at a later date.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Li and her staff, especially the girls in the infusion center.
