Margaret Louise Bowman

Margaret Louise Bolick Bowman, age 90 of Taylorsville passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 20, 2021 after a period of declining health. Margaret was born on July 16, 1930 to the late Walter and Hattie Elenore Hall Bolick in Alexander County. She was the owner and operator of Bowman’s Grocery in the Friendship Community for sixty-two years. Margaret enjoyed listening to church services on the radio especially Rev. Jamie. She also enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles, reading, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, Hayward Bowman, and eleven brothers and sisters.
Those left to share and cherish the memories of Mrs. Bowman include her four daughters, Louise Fox (Harold), Louetta Eckard (David), Lou Eva Deal (Gregg), Jearldine “Jerri” McNiel (Curtis), ten grandchildren, Bryan McNiel, Gina McNiel, Tina Hertzler, Wesley Deal, Wesley Hollar, Lisa Fox, Steven Deal, Josh Hollar, Timothy Eckard, and Ethan Eckard, and twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services for Mrs. Bowman will be conducted at East Taylorsville Baptist Church on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 6:00 pm. The family will greet and mingle with friends after the service. Rev. Jamie Steele will officiate the services.
A Special thank you to Kimberly Eckard, Tina Hertzler, Lou Eva Deal, Jerri McNiel and the wonderful and caring Hospice nurse Lisa Bumgarner. Thanks for being there for Mom. We LOVE you all!
