Mark Kevin Connolly, age 61, born April 9, 1965, in Iredell County, passed away on August 17, 2026, at his home in Iredell County. His life touched so many, and his memory will be treasured by all who knew him.

Mark was known for his unwavering love and commitment to his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 35 years, Juanita Elder Connolly, who stood by his side through life’s joys and challenges. Mark’s mother, Geraldine Millsaps Connolly, will forever remember the deep bond she shared with her son. He was a loving and dedicated father to Emily Connolly Isenhour (Tony), Ethan James Connolly, his siblings, Gregg Connolly, and Robin Connolly and life partner Tony Clanton. His role as grandfather brought him much joy, especially when spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Marley June “Tootie” Mavis Roseman and Charlie Shea Rosalee Isenhour.

Mark’s circle of friends and extended family was broad, a testament to his warm heart and open spirit. Among the many who cherish his memory are his longtime friends King Millsaps and Barry Benfield, and others whose lives he graced: work family, Carrie Hartness, Gail Davis, Tony Tevepaugh, Jerry Craig, and Guy Mundy. His niece and nephews, Chris and Kevin Weber, also mourn the loss of an uncle whose guidance and humor left a lasting imprint.

He was predeceased by his father, James Buddy Connolly, his maternal grandparents Talmage and Carrie Millsaps, and paternal grandparents, James and Edith Connolly.

Throughout his working years, Mark made a lasting contribution at Craftmaster, where he worked in the upholstery department and was involved in product development. He approached his career with diligence and pride, forming strong bonds with what he often called his “work family.”

A lifelong member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church, Mark’s faith was the foundation of his character. He dedicated himself to serving as a trustee and a Sunday School teacher, and he was always ready to help with Vacation Bible School and in guiding the church’s youth. His sense of responsibility to his church family was unwavering, and he was a cherished and respected member of the congregation.

Mark’s passion for the outdoors was evident in the time he spent hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed trout fishing in Laurel Springs with his son and fishing off the Cherry Grove pier. Taking his grandchildren for rides on the side by side brought him immense happiness, and these moments of adventure and laughter are now precious memories for his family.

Above all, Mark will be remembered for the immense love he felt—and so freely gave—to his family, church family, and work family. He cherished every relationship, and his kindness, generosity, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
