Owen Walker,

Owen Hubbard Walker, age 92, of West Jefferson, passed away on Monday, July 5th, 2010 following an illness of 4 years.  He was born in Alexander County on March 23rd, 1918 to parents John Davis and Fannie Barnes Walker.  He was retired from American Cyanamid in Charlotte.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norine Johnson Walker, 5 sisters: Juanita Childers, Jessie Walker, Betsy Daniels, Ernestine Robinette, and Norene Blackwelder; and 2 brothers, Bill and Graydon Walker.  Survivors include his daughter, Norma Dean Walker of West Jefferson; 2 sisters, Rachel Wike of Taylorsville, and Zephia Dunlap of Kannapolis.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8th, at Alexander Funeral Service from 1:30 – 2:45 P.M.  Funeral Services follow at 3:00 in the Alexander Funeral Service Chapel.  Burial to follow at Three Forks Baptist Church cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.alexfuneralser
