Patricia Ann Roten Beaver

Apr 27, 1950 — Aug 5, 2026

Taylorsville

Patricia Ann Roten Beaver, known lovingly as Pat, passed away peacefully exactly six years to the day from her loving husband of 45 years Joe Beaver, at her home in Alexander County on August 5, 2026. Born in Watauga County, Pat touched the lives of many throughout her 76 years, leaving a legacy rooted in dedication to her family, a steadfast sense of community, and a passion for education.

Patricia’s early years in Watauga County shaped the woman she became—a caring individual driven by love for learning and service. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from Appalachian State University, an achievement that marked the beginning of a long and meaningful career. Pat worked as a teacher at Stony Point Elementary, where she devoted herself to her students until her well-earned retirement. Her former colleagues and generations of students will remember her kindness, patience, and unwavering belief in the potential of every child who entered her classroom.

Outside the classroom, Pat’s life was guided by warmth, creativity, and generosity. Her home often echoed with the laughter of loved ones, especially during celebrations where she prepared delicious family meals. Cooking for her family was not just a passion but an expression of her deep devotion to those she cherished the most. Her grandchildren held a particularly special place in her heart; she delighted in every moment spent with Mollie and James Ross, her joy evident during the many family gatherings she so beautifully orchestrated.

Pat found great joy in her hobbies, which included flower gardening—a pursuit that filled her days with color and life—crafting, and reading.

A woman of faith, Pat was a devoted member of Stony Point Baptist Church. She actively contributed to the spiritual and charitable life of her church family, serving in missions and programs such as Operation Christmas Child and working with the Lemonade Ladies at Mt. Nebo. Her involvement in these ministries reflected her enduring compassion and commitment to service.

Pat leaves behind a loving family who will forever honor her memory: her daughters, Carrie Ross (David) of Conover and Melinda Watson (Drew) of Durham; her grandchildren, Mollie Ross and James Ross; and her brother, Jack Roten (Jo), and number of special cousins.

Along with her husband she was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Mollie Ethel Hodges Roten.

To honor Patricia Ann Roten Beaver’s life, visitation will be held on August 9, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Stony Point Baptist Church, located at 231 Ruritan Park Rd, Stony Point, NC 28678. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the same location, with burial to take place thereafter.
