Pauline Imogene Barker Evans

Pauline Imogene Barker Evans, age 92, cherished member of her family, was born on Tuesday, July 25, 1933, in Swain County, North Carolina. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Trinity Ridge in Catawba County.

Pauline was known for the love she had for her family, always treasuring moments spent in their company. She had a passion for gardening and flowers, which brought her great joy, alongside her love for cooking for her family, where she created a warm atmosphere filled with delicious meals and laughter.

Pauline is survived by her loving family, including her sons, Jimmy Warren Evans (Sylvia) and Nelson Wayne Evans, along with her daughter Rebecca Louann Teague. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and even welcomed two great-great-grandchildren into her family. Pauline also leaves behind several brothers and sisters, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly remember her generosity and kindness.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Jack and Dollie Frady Barker, her husband Jack Evans, her daughter Rose Marie Diaz, grandson Jackson Evans, granddaughter Beverly Teague, and son-in-law Ronnie Teague, as well as her brother Bill Barker and two other siblings.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Alexander Funeral Service in Taylorsville, NC. This will be followed by a graveside service at the Old Bethlehem Church of God Cemetery in Granite Falls, NC at 11:30 am. Pastor Michael Nations will officiate.

The family will accept flowers, or donations may be made to Trinity Ridge, 2140 Medical Park Dr, Hickory, NC 28602.

Pauline’s spirit and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered for her unwavering strength and the care she bestowed upon her family and friends throughout her life.
