Perlie Mae Bryant Hoke

Perlie Mae Hoke, age 90, passed away in her home on March 17, 2026. She was born on September 2, 1935, to Lily Tarlton Bryant of Granite Falls. She was the last of many siblings. She lived in Stony Point most of her life. In 2020, she moved to Hudson with her very treasured daughter, Nancy. Where she was able to have a very joyful life.

She always started her morning with Apple City Radio in Taylorsville. Listening to Rick Gilbert, Lisa, and Joyce.

She loved watching The Andy Griffith Show. And she spent most of her day sitting on the front porch smoking her cigarette, drinking her coffee, waving at the passing cars with her Best Friend, Ronnie. Mawmaw had the most joy when she had sleepovers with great-granddaughter Elliny Mae which she nicknamed “Miss Sunshine.”

She also enjoyed watching her cucumbers and elephant ears grow.

Perlie Mae was preceded in death by her wonderful Husband, Harry Lee Hoke of 60 years. Also, her son Gary Lynn Hoke and Phyllis “Floonie” Ann Hoke.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hoke of Hudson. Her pride and joy were her grandkids and great grandkids. Jeffery (Jane) Martin of Kansas, Chad (Shannon) Martin of Newton, Steven (Heather) Hoke of Stony Point, and Jacob Hoke of Florida. Connor, Brayden, Ryland, Hailey, Nolan, Elliny Mae, and Maverick.

In Stony Point, she had her very best friend TBoy.

Perlie Mae will lie in state Friday, March 20, 2026, at Alexander Funeral Service from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Old Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery in Stony Point at 11:00 am. Rev. Wes Hammer will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 191 Sipe Road, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
