Ralph Edward Miller

Ralph Edward Miller, age 87, was born on Monday, April 25, 1938, in Ashe County. He passed away peacefully at his home in Alexander County on Thursday, May 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith that will be cherished by many.

Ralph was a devoted family man, known for his unwavering love and support for his family throughout his life. He shared a profound bond with his wife of 65 years, Bobby Jean Dyson Miller, who predeceased him. Together, they built a life filled with joyous memories and experiences that defined their family.

Ralph’s warmth and kindness will particularly be remembered by his daughter, Teresa Bare (Lynn), and grandson, Michael Bare (Susan), he also took great pride in his role as a great-grandfather to Dalton, Hudson, and Evie Bare. Ralph also leaves behind his sister, Mary Bentley, and brothers-in-law Ray Bentley and Conley Mecimore, as well as a number of nieces and nephews who held him dear in their hearts.

Ralph was a man of faith, steadfastly following the principles of the Baptist tradition. He found pleasure in a variety of hobbies, including gardening and woodworking, which provided him with both solace and a creative outlet. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for farming, particularly with cows and goats, and he cherished the time spent traveling to the beach.

He was the son of the late Wade Hampton Miller and Glennie St. Clair Miller. Ralph was also preceded in death by his siblings, Peggy Bentley, Ruth St. Clair, and Martha Mecimore.
