Ronald Joseph Troxclair, affectionately known as “Troxy,” passed away on October 9, 2026, at Carolina Caring Catawba Valley Hospice House in Catawba County. He was born on May 11, 1952, in Georgia.
Ronald lived a life shaped by dedication to his work, devotion to his faith, and pride in his service to his country. He proudly served in the United States Navy, and that spirit of commitment remained with him throughout his life. Professionally, he started his electrical career at Anderson Brothers and Electric Service of Hickory, and he finished his career as the owner and operator of Troxgard, He was a master electrician building a life through hard work, skill, and perseverance.
He also found great joy in the simple pleasures that brought people together. Ronald was an avid fisherman who especially enjoyed trout fishing. He was also a loyal fan of the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers, passions that surely brought him many memorable moments over the years. A man of Catholic faith, he was a founding member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Taylorsville, a place that reflected the importance of faith and community in his life.
Above all, Ronald will be remembered by those who knew and loved him best. He is survived by his daughters, Jennie and Jessica Troxclair; four grandchildren, Issabella Frye, Chloe Peterson, Delaynee Troxclair, Micah Walker; siblings, Burt Troxclair, Melinda “Prissy” Troxclair, Patricia “Leah” Troxclair, Allen “Tootie” Troxclair Jr. May their memories of him bring comfort and peace in the days ahead.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Linda Carlson Troxclair; his father, Allen George Troxclair; and his mother, Stella Perkins Troxclair.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a family led visitation on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1041 North Carolina 90, Taylorsville, NC 28681. A family led memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Father Jose Cardenas will officiate. Inurnment will be with the family. After the service the family invites family and friends to join them at The Olde Tavern, 2710 N Center St #1, Hickory, NC 28601, for a celebration of life at 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1041 North Carolina 90, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
Ronald will be remembered with love, gratitude, and respect by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
