Ruth Ann Thomas Ferrese

Ruth Ann Thomas Ferrese, age 77, born on Friday, January 30, 1948, in Clay County, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Carolina Caring in Catawba County. Ruth was a woman deeply loved and cherished by her family, embodying the spirit of devotion and warmth throughout her life.

Ruth was a vibrant member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she not only found spiritual fellowship but also expressed her passion for music by singing in the choir. Her love of singing was matched only by her joy for Christmas, a holiday she cherished deeply, along with her fondness for sweets. She had a captivating personality, often enlivened by her favorite color, red, which reflected her vibrant and lively spirit.

Ruth is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Fred Ferrese, and her beloved children, Tina Horton (Thomas) and David John Ferrese (Charissa). She treasured her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren: Holly Beasley (Christopher), Josh Horton (Sara), Alyssa Ferrese, and Landon Ferrese. Additionally, her heart will be cherished by her great-grandchildren, Bentley Sipe and Kaylee Beasley, who brought her immense joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rupert and Shelma Foster Thomas, and her brothers Bobby Thomas, Lowell Thomas, Billy Thomas, Timothy Thomas, and Larry Thomas. Ruth’s legacy will live on through the lives of all those she touched.

Visitation will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 6:00 pm, both held at Bethlehem Baptist Church, located at 7500 North Carolina 127, Township of Taylorsville, NC 28681. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Dean Chambers will officiate. David Ferrese, Landon Ferrese, Thomas Horton, Joshua Horton, Christopher Beasley, and Bentley Sipe will serve as pallbearers.

The family will accept flowers, or memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 7500 NC 127, Taylorsville, NC 28681.

Ruth leaves behind a legacy of love that will be forever cherished by her family and friends. Her life was a blessing, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
