Sally Edna Marshall Lackey

Sally Edna Marshall Lackey, age 67, born June 5, 1958, in Alexander County, passed away at her home in Alexander County on March 17, 2026. Sally was a cherished member of her community and a member of Carson Chapel.

Throughout her life, Sally was known for her warm spirit and vivacious personality. She loved making people laugh and took great joy in visiting with friends and family. Her spirited conversations and infectious laughter will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her. Sally’s passion extended beyond her social nature through her hobbies, which included gardening, writing, painting, and crafting. These creative outlets reflected her thoughtful and nurturing character.

She is survived by her children, Travis Lackey, Bryce Lackey (Kayla), and Carsyn Lackey. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Dana Atchison (Charles) and Gail Millsaps (Phil), and her brother, Mark Marshall (Lori). Her grandchildren, Lane, Emma, and Evie Lackey, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hal and Dot Marshall, and her brother, Tim Marshall.

A visitation will be held in her honor on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Alexander Funeral Service, located at 193 NC-16, Taylorsville, NC 28681. This gathering will provide an opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects and celebrate the vibrant life she lived. A private celebration of life will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mobile Café, 1400 Hwy 16 S, Taylorsville, NC 28681.

Sally’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and devotion. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to share in her journey.
