Sue Davis Johnson

Sue Davis Johnson, born on September 29, 1933, peacefully departed from this life on May 16, 2025, at her residence. She was a beloved member of her community, known for her warmth and dedication to her work as a waitress for over 30 years, notably at the Bethlehem Restaurant. Sue's friendly demeanor made her an integral part of many lives, as she served countless patrons with a smile.

Sue had a passion for creating beautiful and thoughtful gifts, often spending her time crocheting exquisite doilies that she joyfully gifted to new brides, and crafting cozy baby blankets for new mothers. Her love for crossword puzzles and word searches reflected her sharp mind and spirited personality.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Tamara Johnson of Wilkesboro, along with a special friend, Jim Sebastian. Sue also leaves behind her son, Kevin Johnson, and his wife Robin, and her cherished grandchildren, Lainey Parker (Jackson) of Lynchburg, VA, and Samuel Johnson. She is also survived by her brother, Bobbie Junior Davis and his wife Emma Jane.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Johnson, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her mother Estelle Milam Davis, sisters, Hazel Kilby, Dot Kilby, and Arlee McGlamery, as well as her brother, Tommy RC Davis.

The family invites friends and loved ones to pay their respects during the visitation and funeral service. A visitation will be held on May 18, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service that will take place from 3:00 PM. Both events will be held at the Oxford Memorial Baptist Church, located at 2889 Old NC 90 Road in the Township of Taylorsville, NC. Rev. Neal Walker and Dr. Tom Walker will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Anderson, Anthony George, Ethan Hollar, Johnny Hollar, Samuel Johnson, Jackson Parker, Chad Pennell, Dale Pennell, and Eric Pennell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alexander Hospice at, 50 Lucy Echerd Ln, Taylorsville, NC 28681.

Sue Davis Johnson will be remembered for her kind heart, her nurturing spirit, and the many lives she touched throughout her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
