Ted Alton Hoyle

Ted Alton Hoyle, age 83, born on August 29, 1942, in Caldwell County, peacefully passed away on June 4, 2026, at the Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation Center. His life was one marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for his family and community.

A proud veteran, Ted honorably served in the United States Air Force, exemplifying commitment and patriotism. Following his military service, he built a career as an electrician, applying his skills and work ethic with steadfast reliability. Beyond his profession, Ted’s hands were always busy with projects fueled by his passion for craftsmanship. He also attended Piedmont Bible College and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Religious Education.

Ted was a cherished member of Freedom Baptist Church in Granite Falls, where his faith was a cornerstone of his life. His hobbies reflected a vibrant spirit; he enjoyed skiing, tennis, and music, pursuits that brought joy and balance to his days.

He is remembered fondly for his warm, engaging personality and the love he held for his family. Ted adored spending time with those closest to him, creating treasured memories that will endure in the hearts of his loved ones.

Ted Hoyle is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret “Peggy” Hoyle; his sons Robert Hoyle (Jeannie) and Christian Hoyle; twenty grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Catherine Tolbert (Alan), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who remember him with great affection.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Uray and Ila Campbell Hoyle, his son, Ted Hoyle, Jr., his brothers, Paul, Jerry, Larry, Harold, Dennis, Barry, and Gary, and his sister, Janette.

The family invites friends and community members to honor Ted’s life with a visitation on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Freedom Independent Baptist Church, located at 2224 Satterwhite Circle in Granite Falls, North Carolina. The funeral service will be Monday, June 8, 2026, at Freedom Independent Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Jobie Borders will officiate. Christian Hoyle and Pastor Robert Hoyle will also speak.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Freedom Independent Baptist Church, 2224 Satterwhite Circle, Granite Falls, NC 28630.

Ted’s life was a testament to hard work, faith, and the enduring bonds of family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
